Southern MN | I plant with a Case 2294 and John Deere 7200 Maxemerge 12 row finger pickup planter. I also combine with a John Deere 9510 combine
I run around 500 acres and none of the fields are square. I also have an off the farm job so most of the fieldwork gets done at night. I'd like to put individual row shut offs on and possibly auto-steer since it can be difficult to see at night even with LED's all around. I plant both corn and soybeans with the planter.
I'd like to try and do all the work myself and possibly buy used. The problem is, I don't even know where to start or what to buy.
Any info would be appreciated. I thought about Agleader surestop clutches and Agleader auto steer. This way I could move the Agleader stuff to the combine in fall for mapping and possibly autosteer.
Please let me know if there is a better or cheaper way to go. I want something that will be somewhat simple and easy to use.
