Subject: Spraying alfalfa

Sheridan Mi
So a week ago, I asked about autotoxicity in alfalfa and killing off a stand then reseeding. I went to get some glyphosate yesterday and was telling them what I wanted to do. One of the guys in the office asked why I didn't just spray it with Buctril and save the seeding that's there? I guess I didn't realize there was a broadleaf herbicide that you could use on alfalfa. I told them I'd try it. Well, they didn't have any Buctril, but they had Beyond Extra and said that would do the job on the buckhorn too. I sprayed it yesterday afternoon. The field already has a yellowish tint. I went out and checked, the alfalfa still looks healthy, so fingers crossed.
