SW MN | What does everyone remember about 2010 crop year? My marketing service put out a post showing that we had a poor crop in 2010, and it was not related to a drought. He had some S & D numbers showing current USDA projections, a normal yield (aka not a record 181, but same as last years) and a 172 which is just below the 10 year average. Based on the S & D, I felt like we had around 1 billion bushels of demand that could get squeezed out based on averages so even in a short crop it is going to take some curbing of demand before we chew through our supposed piles of corn. 2010 was right before I started farming, so my memory is faded. I was out chasing and drinking and didn't pay too close of attention. | |
