| Hello everyone! I know there is multiple threads on this from 10-15 years ago...I have read through most of them and it seems the best corn/beans setup is Trimbe rasp bars, kuchar filler plates, and a kuchar or st.Johns concaves with 2" spacing (every other wire pulled out) along with a beater speed up kit--would like to confirm this is correct?
The 9550 is due for bars and concave replacement and I don't want to spend the money on kuchar concave and St. John's seems to have folded up.
From what I have read, most have gone to sunnybrook concaves but they seem more for smaller grains.
Another option is precision farm parts concaves but haven't been able to read much about anyone's experience with them. Also looking at a concave from shoup but not sure if they are soft metal like OEM or hardened?
