Subject: When to cut newly seeded alfalfa

Planted 18lb/ac alfalfa with oats cover crop and orchard grass mid april in southeast ohio. We've been really dry here since may, went and looked at it today, oats are in milk stage alfalfa is looking good but only about 8 inches tall. How soon would you mow and bale? Number one goal is to have a good stand for future years, I don't care if I only get one cutting this year. Should I wait until oats are dried out and bale everything for dry hay, give the alfalfa more time to establish? Or I can bale it and wrap it. First time planting alfalfa.
