West central ND | Why are the apples turning red this early? The trees are a mess because the snow smashed them down a few winters ago. We prune every spring but they still go crazy. The only thing we have done differently this year was apply Copper for its antifungal effect. This was applied about 2 weeks ago. It has been nice and wet this year about 8 inches since April 1st.the temperature has been below normal. Maybe 1 day that reached 80.
