I believe so.
A lady I used to work with had a son who would not quit picking his nose. All the time everywhere they went. She was exasperated.
She asked why he did it. It tastes salty mom, was his reply. She upped his salt intake and it cut down on the activity. It did not eliminate the habit, but greatly reduced her embarrassment.
