I have now 3 (was 2) of these in the house:

They are not particularly cheap (there are other similar products cheaper) but I got them since there are no monthly subscription fees like many of these sorts of products. One buy and done.

I had one in the kitchen, one in the basement. Just added one for the upper floor. Motivation was for monitoring if the heat went out in the winter. Winter of '21-'22 these saved the day as lots of furnace issues that winter.

I do not have a smart phone so I normally check things via a login on their website. But, it can be setup for getting text alerts on my flip phone. You can setup the trip points for that.
