John Burns - 7/30/2023 14:58 Better to not snack, but that said here are some. Pork rinds. Meat chips or sticks and jerky as long as no added sugar. Cold hamburger patties or hamburger cookies as one carnivore lady calls them. Luncheon meat. Cheese sticks (if goal is weight loss limit amount of cheese). If a cold hamburger patty doesn't sound good you are likely just bored (instead of hungry) and eating for the wrong reasons. Depends on your goals or needs.

Sure wish I could find a "good" (my definition, no one else's) pork rind snack. I've tried all the ones you've enjoyed, John, and they every one taste/smell like old boar meat. Just can't do it. Maybe someday one will come along that manages to keep the odor to a minimum and I can eat it. Thanks for all the helpful posts..............I truly appreciate every one!

I agree, most pork rinds are unappetizing, BUT Meijer store brand 'chili lime' pork rinds are very tasty. When we go to the 'big' city, we always stop at Meijer for their meat department (I like lamb and we don't raise sheep anymore), pork rinds and London Broil usually at about $6 a pound, which I consider a good price today. We turn it into beef jerky or cook close to the following recipe https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/london-broil-recipe.
