Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa

AR Plowboy - 8/7/2023 22:52 I wonder how much growing conditions, soil type and fertility have to do with how they grow and the flower they make. We have a large bed of them that just keeps growing bigger and the plants are close together. Tried a couple years ago cutting the bed back to a smaller circle. I got behind and the plants were looking good and I just let them grow back again.

From your comment, I gather that cannas are perennial in your zone?  That would be heaven!  I don't have a really good place to store the corms over winter, so end up buying new nearly every spring. Lots to be said for that southern growing season!!
