Subject: The flu shot

Pittsburg, Kansas

Ten years or more ago I used to get the annual flu shot. Well some years at least. But I have not in quite a long time. Here is a recent study on the subject. Use your own discretion.

https://www.acpjournals.org/doi/10.7326/M19-3075?_ga=2.114195335.1018164567.1690725746-1383712439.1690725746

Here are the results. The study is focused on people near the age of 65 so may not apply to other age groups. Just food for thought. It makes no attempt to determine if it reduced symptoms. Only hospitalizations and death.

"The data included 170 million episodes of care and 7.6 million deaths. Turning 65 was associated with a statistically and clinically significant increase in rate of seasonal influenza vaccination. However, no evidence indicated that vaccination reduced hospitalizations or mortality among elderly persons. The estimates were precise enough to rule out results from many previous studies."
