What type of zipper? Metal, plastic? Washing can remove any lubrication from the zipper. Rub beeswax on the teeth to make it zip easier. If the slider is broken, you can order a new slider. Usually the size is stamped on it. You have to remove the stops at the top and zip the old one off and the new one back on. Then install new stops. You can get all the parts online. If the teeth are missing, then you need a new zipper.
