| There are certified appraisers for farm land just like there are for homes etc. If you feel comfortable providing a general sense of the farm’s location, you might get some good suggestions for an appraiser in the area.
I can tell you from personal experience of a happy ending to a similar scenario. My BIL and his siblings were wanting to sell a farm to a long-term tenant. They had no idea what it was worth and received what I thought was a lowball offer. Long story short, the appraisal came in much higher and the tenant agreed to pay appraised value. Everyone ended up getting a fair deal with no drama. | |
