Wheelersburg and Lancaster, Ohio | My dad made a ton of money back in the eighties buying cull cows to get “one more calf” out of. But we have lots of cheap hay and good pasture. Often it was more like three or four calves. Cows were a lot cheaper back then. His theory was if lost a cheap cow now and then it was worth the risk to have extra calves. I think he paid less than $100 for some of those cows. And I have no idea what he got for feeder calves either. |
