Subject: RE: Switching from Raven 440 to Ag Leader Liquid Product Module

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
Couple of things up front. Do you have an implement switch jumper installed? What number are you using for the flow meter cal. You must enter the Raven suggested number divided by 10. When you were using a Raven 440, you entered the number on the flow meter tag which is the number of pulses produced when 10 gallons of water were run through the flow meter. The Raven 440 is expecting you to enter that number.

For an Ag Leader system, they ask you for the meter cal for 1 unit not 10.

In other words if the tag says 740 for gallons on the Raven tag, enter 74 for the Ag Leader.

I always recommend going to Manual for troubleshooting. In manual, you should be able to change the control valve with the UP/DOWN arrow keys. You must be able to change the flow with these keys. The direction must be correct also. In other words if you push the UP arrow key the flow rate should increase. Pushing the DOWN arrow key should cause the flow rate to decrease.

If you are able to change the flow but the UP/DOWN arrows are backwards you made a mistake in the configuration. One of the setup questions refers to inline or bypass control. You chose the wrong one.

You must be able to predicably control the flow in Manual with the UP/DOWN keys before attempting to use the automatic rate adjustment.

The Raven RFM 55 flow meters are very old and haven't been in production for many years. It is possible yours is worn or has some internal problems. The current replacement model would be the RFM 60P which are generally very reliable but can still have problems with debris internally. Raven also makes the smaller RFM 15 which would be suitable for lower flow rates with smaller sprayers. They make larger flow meters in a variety of sizes. The flow meter sizes overlap a fair amount but trying to use one that is vastly out of its range can cause problems.

However if your rig runs properly when the 440 is used, the problem is likely in the Ag Leader setup or configuration.
