I agree = to operate a slide gate.

Dad has a 20x32 with chain unloader (Hercules) and when it gets shelled corn, we use that to adjust flow and not overwhelm the 6" auger which the hercules unloader drops into and goes to a roller mill, for cattle feed.

Originally, this silo was built for grind ear corn, using chain-type unloader.


Edit: we have a 2 foot pipe "tool" with tapered point on one end, which fits in that hole and it is used to slide gate mechanism.
