Subject: RE: Pasture vs dry lotting cows

SE Wisconsin
We have 20 acres of permanent pasture, plus another 32 acres of pasture i seeded in September last year... I do not want to overstock the new seeding fields the first year.... which is why i am thinking to split the herd and dry lot part of them... everything will be set for daily rotation.

I have another 12 acre piece I am hoping to do peas/oats in for baleage and then drill millet into for a late summer graze or more baleage... then winter rye for spring grazing! I need to fence this piece though yet. need permission from land owner for fence to go in.
