Hartley, IA | I have used a Trimble CFX-750 with RTK to autosteer my CIH 210 CVT for 10 years with excellent results. Last spring when spraying I had few issues with the touchscreen not responding but it only happened a few times. Last fall while on the grain cart we had occasional problems with the front tractor wheels gyrating wildly back and forth but the tractor would usually stay on the guidance line. Later in the fall the tractor started to wander off line more often.
This winter I did all of the steering calibrations again and it seemed to act reasonably well going up and down the gravel road if I kept the aggressiveness below 80.
This spring I tried to autosteer while spraying and the tractor immediately started to wander side to side and kept getting worse like it was driving on ice. After 1 field the screen on the CFX died. Dealer thought that might have been the problem all along but no such luck. We put in a used FMX, redid all of the calibrations and nothing changed. The tractor immediately starts to wander side to side when the autosteer is engaged. The numbers from the wheel angle sensor make sense and calibrations are all good so we think it's something in the tractor.
Any ideas?? TIA | |
