West Central Illinois | Obrien step-ins, i'm a pretty big cheapskate but they're just so much easier to work with and lots of different stuff you can do with them. That and the whole post is an insulator so pretty easy to mess with a fence while it's hot. i don't have any older than 4 yrs old but i know a lot of people that have had them last 15-20 yrs being used off and on throughout the year. The other great trick with them is to take a pigtail post and an obrien and use the pigtail as a corner with the obrien post at a 45 degree angle to brace the pigtail. I was skeptical at first but holds up pretty well to deer and what not.
Powerflex and timeless i think make copycat step-ins just like obriens that are a little bit cheaper if a guy was to buy a decent qty of them. Wouldn't go buy the $2 cheapos at the farm store those things are lucky to last 3 or 4 years no UV protection at all in those | |
