| Probably should have looked into this a couple weeks ago. My bad.. But I was hoping to turn my cows out to pasture tommorow, I’m still learning and have always heard about the high mag and all that, but never understood it so I started reading about it tonight.
The cows have been on hay and purina protein tubs all winter in a small pasture where they have been grazing and eating some grass recently as well. But they will be going to a pasture that is pretty lush with 12”+ tall mix of grasses and lots of reed canary grass.
They have Purina mineral year round, but no high mag. If I make sure they fill up on hay in the morning before turning them out in the afternoon will they be okay or do I need to get them on a different mineral for x amount of days before turning them out?
Would really like to get them out there ASAP, but not trying to lose any in the process. Most have calved in the last ~30 days.
Appreciate any help!
