Buffalo IL
I am going to be way different than the others. First if you can find a sizable acreage to lease grab it. It's probably likely to be toooo expensive to cash flow. ( I am not trying to be negative) Location wise I have no idea where you are located. Second but maybe should be first . Find someone to custom graze for on lbs per acre or animals per acre or dollars per day. If you are successful at that, then find someone to work a lease to buy or percentage of calf crop for your custom grazing. If you were close to me, I would buy the cows and do a lease. I would only do it though if you were willing to buy some reels and posts to do intensive grazing and not overgraze. I hate to say this but there is better money in hair sheep or goats than cattle. Especially if you are
dealing with smaller acreage. You just flat out don't need the overhead of cattle for equipment and feed.
The profit in animals is to have low overhead and to reduce the number of days supplementing feed.
