So what's the story? Started construction a few years ago when packers were "stealing" cattle? Put up with a govt grant?
Severely undercapitalized and run on a shoe string budget from the word go while seeing the cost of goods purchased (cattle) and interest rates go up substantially?
A 40-50 head/day plant was doomed for failure from the start. Too big and not big enough at the same time.
The story I heard was piss poor management and ran out of money. They were in court for a little while trying to settle debts with contractors. I frequented the store front they had and really liked what they were doing. It's a shame it ended the way it did.
