It is possible to set a manual speed in the 20-20 for it to make assumptions when the planter is down. But, of course it won't be as accurate, and you will have no long history or maps which I find very valuable for long term planning and review.
AgExpress has this little GPS puck to stick on your roof. I borrowed one in a major pinch one day, and it did work ok: https://www.agexpress.com/micro-trak-astro-ii-gps-speed-sensor-w-4-p...
A local Precision Planting dealer may have one too.
Or, you can buy a used John Deere StarFire iTC receiver for almost nothing (seen one go for $12 at a local auction) and get the harness to connect to the 20-20 from a PP dealer. A neighbor can help you get the NMEA strings right, but after that, you won't need a Deere display.
