Eastern NE KS | I have seen this effect in AAA EPD's. We have had several newer EPD's introduced to the system. The marker identity is immature for the first few years of the new EPD but eventually the correlations (training) becomes known.
At one time over the last several years AAA collected more registrations per year than all other breed association collect combined. Assuming the same genomic test rate across breeds, it could take many years for a new test to train the system to a high level of certainty for non-Angus cattle. | |
