In need of a bull. Local, reputable breeder has some dandies, but they're a little younger than I would like. Bull is only 19 months old.

In a few weeks, I'd like to turn him loose with 22 5-7 y/o cows weighing from 1000 to 1300 lbs.

Is he going to be man enough to do the job? I'm not as concerned about the month to cow ratio as I am about him being able ot get himself up on a full grown cows back.

Shared experiences and opinions appreciated.

Depends a lot on the bull and the cow, but I'll routinely put jersey bulls born in March out with heifers the same age the following early June, and adult (jersey) cows 3-4 weeks later. 6-700 lb bulls can handle 1000-1100 lb cows, in my experience, although most of my cows are smaller than that.
