Oh I agree on the testicle fertility deal. My point was on steers on a finishing diet. My deal is let’s make the feet good enough that it’s not a conversation topic. Quit making excuses and let the dairies do the feet trimming. The genetics are there to do it. Question is do Angus breeders have the stones to do it?


I think the drive to have the absolute monster highest gain, especially after weaning, has so blinded most cattlemen (???) that there has been absolutely no realization of the costs involved.
(That's besides needing to hug crappy feet, overly posty legs, and terrible temperaments - - - Angus was rated a superior maternal breed once upon a time - - - note that is 'maternal' today - - - - its only about the biggest calf the highest gain the biggest cow . . . .)
