western colorado

That is the Vet or Vets' deal.  I understand that the salebarn hires the Vet but that's pretty hit or miss on quality.  Buying butcher cows in the fall I've blood tested them and have always gotten more than 50% bred and been all the way up to 90%+ bred.  That's buying the young pretty ones.  That's a combination of bad management and poor skills.  I've also played on a vets weakness too.  Had a vet at a local sale barn that was really hard on mouthing cows.  He would mark a chipped tooth as broken and if they had 3 or more missing or even bad teeth they were marked gummers.   There was some good trading opportunities there.
