SE Nebraska | Not sure what you did wrong since i wasnt there. SubQ shots you can tint the skin with one hand and then insert needle if you arent sure of the correct angle to get a SubQ shot placed correctly.

Gives good photos to explain it. Kind of lengthy but they did seem to cover all the basics someone might take for granted.
As for the abscess, you could leave it and it will eventually pop on its own or if you have them in the chute already, you can poke it with a syringe, draw a little up and make sure it is an abscess and not something hard, foreign, etc. If it is puss, you can lance it on the lower third of the abscess, squeeze it out. if the vet does it, they will rinse it out with some iodine and water solutions using a dosing gun but i do not do that. Can give her LA200 to ward off infection afterwards. | |
