Some will still try and sort the kernels but they don’t pull it into the pen like long stem hay. We try not to over mix it either. They don’t like fines. We always have some waste we push out to keep things fresh. Less than 5% I’d guess. We feed dry hay to our young stock and found the tombstone style manger fronts work best to keep them from pulling dry hay into the pen and standing on it.
