We bought bred heifers. Started calving 9 days later. Calves did ok first couple days then downhill and dead on day 5. We took a couple calves to Iowa State Vet College and they came back with BVD. It was a bad deal. Luckily we had never put them with the cow herd. Florfenicol seemed to help the calves as much as anything. I hope you don’t have BVD!
