Nebraska | Hemlock has been around for a couple of centuries, but it exploded in population with the invention of roundup ready crops. More non crop areas of fields (fenclines and terraces) were getting killed off and allowing it to expand from lack of competition. Hemlock, while not immune, does have some natural resistance to glyphosate so if it has much height it you need more than Roundup in your mix for a quick kill. 24D, dicamba, or Grazon seem to work well. I don’t have much of it here in Nebraska, but had it in quite a few places in Iowa. It can kill cows but sometimes it just makes them goofy for a day or two, depending on how much they eat. They generally avoid it. | |
