I always tell people vaccines in a small closed herd maybe only helps 10 percent of the time on avg. You just don't know when the issue is gonna Happen. But when it does it can ugly quick...and you wish you wouldn't have skimped on a little work and 5-10 dollars of vaccine which can save a lot of problems.
Also if your selling your calves getting vaccines in your calves will consistently add $40 and as high $150 dollars on your calves in the fall. People don't want unvaccinated calves cause they get Sick/dead very easily when mixed with others.
That money alone should be reason enough to hire someone to help you Vax whether it be a neighbor friend vet etc.
