Subject: Looked over the numbers

North Liberty and South Bend, Indiana
So I looked our cow/calf board over and from memory there should have been 42 calves, had 17 deaths. Pretty sure 2 froze, born late night in very cold temperatures. 2 we lost both cow and calf over night, were heifers and both calves were backwards. 2 almost positive they got laid on and accidentally killed, one was a twin. And 2 died after several weeks, developed diarrhea and just could get them better. 1 was a late abortion calf and 3 were legs and head out when we got there in the morning. Head and tongues swelled up but pulled real easy, saved 2. So that is 10, the rest were fine for a day or three then suddenly dead. Might attribute 2 to cow not having enough milk as we know at least one was sucking on the cow.
