I don't think you should be required by law to wear a seatbelt or a helmet on a motorcycle. It should be personal choice. …. It should however be your choice. Same for helmets on cycles.
The problem comes when there are wrecks and lots of people don’t wear their seatbelts… the insurance companies and/or the government end up picking up the hospital bill… that DOES directly affect you and me. So what’s the right answer? If they determine you weren’t wearing it, no coverage? Or just require it and know that the stats say most of us will wear it, even if we grumble. |
