Ergot is a concern when feeding triticale grain to cattle. I wouldn’t be crazy about giving it to bred cows. We grow triticale for seed. I find the grain and straw to both be nasty feed. Tub grinding and using in a tmr or for bedding is the only way I see it working. It sucks because triticale makes awsome silage, but may is generally a rainy month here.
