china over counted population, one child policy colossal mistake, so their population is beyond replacing themselves. young people are workers and consumers, without them a country`s economy crashes. india and probably african countries in good shape. the us and mexico can tread water. europe, russia ect in tough shape.

boys afraid to talk to girls and technologies making opposite sex "unnecessary", much working against a resurgence of a need to return to the big ol 10 bedroom farmhouses of the early 20th century.

to answer the question of a estimate of world population in 25 yrs. i would guess 6 billion (many senior citizens) , assuming no world wars or nuclear incidents.

Global birthrates have only recently dropped below replacement level. Global population will continue to rise for about 20 years afterwards because the women currently having babies are part of a larger cohort born when birth rates were above replacement.

Global population in 2050 is currently projected to be 9.0-9.5 billion people. Only then does it begin to actually count backwards.

Now, population distribution will change dramatically during that time. Many areas of Africa are still above replacement birthrates. Those areas will continue to experience population growth for decades to come.
It's the richer areas of the world that have begun to experience population decline. In general, those are the areas that can afford to import food. The implications of that should be fun to see play out. *******

But, no, global population as a whole will continue to grow for a decade or two yet.
