Just because the value on paper shows that something sells for more now doesn’t mean that it’s actually worth more now, as you said, the dollar is worth less so therefore it takes more dollars to purchase the same item. But “in a sense” you could go to the bank and have “updated values” of what your older equipment is worth, thereby giving yourself a higher asset price evaluation and more leverage in return.
