Retired on a pension? I know you are on my side on this David but most retirees don’t benefit from inflation. Unless somebody put a lot of their own money into their own investments , pensions have not did a very good job. My comment above about current administration is the fact that this administration generally gets the votes of unions, teachers and a lot of union type jobs that typically would have a pension most affected negatively by inflation. Take it one step further, someone with a home that has increased greatly cannot spend that extra money unless they want to borrow against that and than at increased interest rates. So inflation inflates our net worth but does it create a lot more spendable wealth? Or does it buy more than it did before?
