My goodness, your skull is thicker than your brain… inflation, growth in life’s amenities, etc.

Sure, if we all lived on 1 acre of ground in a mud hut, eating lard, sure, your point is valid. Granted, don’t feel bad on your thrown of hypocrisy while you’re on electronics with internet, you know, things that increase the cost of living you’re arguing against. Yes, shops cost money, we compete against other businesses that build. Equipment? Yep, we bid against each other for efficiencies and creature comforts as we always have. Land, yep, you guessed it, it gets bid up, inherit a bunch or run a pencil. Seed tech? Are you running bin run seed? I’m guessing not. 1/2 million dollars houses are pretty much starter homes now. Do you live and understand the real world these days?

All these things increase the cost of production, increasing the base you need to make a living. Unless, as I mentioned, you inherited everything. Or, you farm as a hobby for the most part and work fulltime elsewhere.
