| Let's say you have 3 siblings with no interest in farming. You inherit 25% equity and they want the cash. Banks don't lend 75% LTV, and it certainly will not cashflow. Hopefully you have other assets of can convince 2 of the 3 to be landlords for awhile. I've seen this situation play out my whole career and I've been the guy trying to be the buyer. It is really tough and it is a big financial sacrifice. But a noble one imo, to keep the family farm together. | |
