The saying those who don't earn it don't value it comes to mind.

Some think "earning it" is getting paid a full time wage to work part time and fight with dad on every decision to be made on an operation he built while Jr. was out farting around is earning it.

There needs to be a happy medium of making them know what they have so they appreciate it and making life a little better than the previous generation had it. For the most part that doesn't look like it is happening and that's not good for society as a whole.


I should mention there is the other side to this too. The previous generation keeps making poor decisions running it right into the ground while not even knowing it. Holding all the power until their late 80's and the 60 year old next generation has no say in anything. That's not good either.
