Southern Missouri | The southeastern corner of Missouri grows a big cotton crop , the Sunday before Memorial Day saw storms come through in the early morning and again right before dark , some cotton completely hailed out , some straight line winds beat the crap out of it and lots died , sometimes takes a couple days just see if it lives or dies , lots died , one neighbor by me lost a thousand acres and had 4000 more get severely beaten up , another neighbor completely lost 5500 acres , the whole area sustained lots of damage , some soybeans with underwater damage and mud covered and can’t get in to do anything about it as rain keeps coming through every couple days , after a few years of really good starts it looks pretty tough around us , couple good sized towns lots of damage , local school parking lot was covered in electrical pole contractors trucks last Tuesday morning, we’ve been backhoeing trees and big branches all around the farm all week , could use a break here , lots of planted and lost going to crop insurance and lot of guys going to take it to harvest and file claims then
