NS Canada | The weather seems to be warming up pretty steadily the last week or 2, to what bernie shows. I can only imagine the bugs are horrendous this time of year though.
I'd throw a toque in your bag just to have incase you have a cold day. Cut out the cold and wind on your head and you can usually get by with some simple layers. I know here next to the ocean the air temperature stays quite a bit colder than even a mile inland this time of year (can be near an 8-10*c difference some days), A lake shouldn't be as bad though, but being on the water may be cooler - I'd ask your hosts what to expect for temps on and off the water.
