Being behind is your argument for not being good or excellent? That’s not a reason the crop isn’t good. Once again this is why farmers suck at predicting crop prospects.


The corn that was from VE to V3 in McDonough, Warren, and northern Hancock county in the last 3 days would look pretty good if it was May 4. Latest corn planting I think I have seen in the areas I traveled through, and I have been traveling through them for over 40 years about this time of year.

Do you think corn that is VE-V3 on June 3 has full yield potential? What is the yield potential of an acre that hasn’t been planted yet? Tell us historically how late planted corn normally yields.
People who have no skin in the game don’t have to be good at predicting crop prospects. They get paid whether they are correct or not, and get to keep changing their guesses for years afterwards.
