S Illinois | It was actually well well above average temperatures this year in April and May. In IA those two months were top 25 for warmest out of the last 130. So it has been very warm.
As to the precipitation, what was seen in May needs to continue for the next two months and with probably a little tick up due to the dryness coming into this year. Fall of 92 into the spring of 93 was extremely wet and cold. Opposite of what was seen this year. Then the scale of rainfall seen in May-Sept of 1993 was off the chart with parts of IA getting over 3' of rain in the 3 summer months. So that 10"-12" seen in May in parts of IA just needs to be repeated again and again. | |
