The part of the math you are missing is not one single person has to have a record crop for it to be a record nationally. Or you could have all 90+m make 185, with maybe 30% of those acres being a record and ecstatic with that yield, while the other 70% of the corn areas are so mad they can’t see straight with that 185 that is “barely worth harvesting”.
