| Not sure that farmers are getting more efficient as much as farmers are receiving more money from multiple revenue streams via subsidies and crop insurance etc Add in off the farm income, 1031 exchanges from selling ag land to developers and then reinvestin/growing the operation with more land at a lessor cost per acre. Now we have wind farm and solar leases, cell tower leases, the new “carbon sequestration” leases/payments. Then add in how many farmers have diversified and have income streams from off farm income to sustain the farming operation through the down years. There is a lot more “farmers” that fall into these categories than just folks that strictly “farm” and have to live solely off the price for a bushel of corn sold.
