Nw Iowa | My problem mentally is that I compare this years dismal looking ( so far) crop with last two years bumper crop. It definitely gets to be backyard itis and you have to constantly try to look at whole picture. Deere6 makes a good point. I too thought ratings were alittle crazy but than method is a FSA employee giving a weekly update as I understand? Here if you look past drownouts, don’t count fields that are not up or unplanted, I suppose you could call it good. My problem as a farmer is that I know there is that 10 acre hole on backside of farm that is gone or that I may have a late replanted field struggling to have good germination or a stand of corn that looks okay from the road but it is thin enough that top yield is gone.. | |
