Was told of a story when I was a kid, that a sickle mower was adapted (assuming by grandpa) that mounted in the bucket of our Farmall 200 (not sure how they powered it). It was a rigid bar, and they used it to cut the tops off of thistles before going to seed. Was used in wheat/peas and lentils. I never saw it, or even pictures, but was told about it.
