I doubt it since a high percent now is being bought with little debt (thats my opinion, not a fact).



I seriously question that idea whenever it’s tossed around.

The amount of pretax income that is required and the income taxes that have to be paid to buy any sizable chunk of land at $20k/acre without debt is almost mind boggling.

In general farmers hate to pay income taxes.

When it comes to the farmers buying the 1/4 section across the fence I’d bet it’s far more common for previously paid for ground to get borrowed against.
